Arteast Ottawa is a highly active not-for-profit visual arts organization in Eastern Ontario. Our aims are: provide an organization through which members may develop their abilities and interests in the visual arts, foster the growth of visual arts, and contribute to the cultural development in Ottawa and surrounding regions.

The September 23, 2025, Grow with Art Speakers Series presenter will be award winning photographer David Barbour. Highlights to David Barbour’s career include a World Press Award in 1985 for a photograph he took on assignment in Egypt for CIDA as well as a Mid-Career Canada Council Grant in 1999 to continue his personal project in Havana.
David’s presentation will concentrate on the importance of compositional elements which will transform the ordinary into an emotional engaging visual.

La présentation du photographe renommé David Barbour se tient le 23 septembre 2025 lors de la série Grandir avec art.
Pendant sa carrière, David Barbour a gagné un Prix de la presse mondial en 1985 pour une photographie qu’il a pris pendant son affectation en Égypte, ainsi qu’une bourse de mi-carrière en 1999 du Conseil des arts du Canada afin de continuer un projet individuel situé à la Havane.
La présentation de David mettra l’accent sur l’importance des éléments de composition qui se transforment l’ordinaire vers des images émotives et engageantes.
