Grow With Art Nov 2014

Grow With Art Volunteer Awards Night
November 2014

by Susan Thompson

ARTEAST celebrated the end of another busy and creative year with our Annual
Volunteer Awards Night on November 25th at D’Arcy McGee’s Pub. If the level of
noise was any indication, a very good time was had by all 38 attendees. President
Josie DeMeo thanked all the volunteers for their contributions of time, energy
and ideas that make our organization such a success. Without the many unpaid
hours of our volunteers, so much artistic joy would not happen.

Josie De Meo read the names of all 49 volunteers with a description of their
contributions, and presented them with a certificate of appreciation. Mary Ann
Varley gave each person a chocolate treat to add to the evening’s calorie count.
Good thing this happens only once a year! Those members who were not present will
receive their certificate by mail. This was followed by a lively art exchange
representing the many and varied talents of our members. There were several door
prizes as well – so almost everyone left with a gift in hand.

Josie De Meo, our out-going President, was toasted for her memorable time in
office – a fitting tribute to a hard-working, enthusiastic lady who has made us
all proud to be “Arteasters”.

Many thanks to the Grow with Art organizers who made another great
evening happen. A fitting end to a fantastic year.
