“An Autumn Mix/ Couleurs d’automne ” – Art Exhibition
St Laurent Complex Gallery
The show runs from August 17th to 27th September 2013/L’exposition se déroulera du 17 aout au 27 septembre 2013
Arteast is proud to present the work of four talented artists in our “Autumn Mix” exhibition, currently on display at the St. Laurent Complex. Isabella Lévêsque Bouchard’s delicate watercolour paintings of rustic scenes and ikebana contrast with her boldly coloured abstracts executed in mixed media on canvas or paper. Kate Daller presents her sensitive paintings of people and scenic landscapes, including a delightful character study of an old farmer at a hand-pumped well. One colorful abstract in pastel provides an interesting change of pace from her acrylic and oil paintings on canvas. Roy Whiddon explores the human figure in a series of dramatic monochrome photographs of nude models in settings, ranging from simple studio setups to the autumnal forest and an abandoned factory. Another photographer, Jane Cass, captures the vibrant gold, crimson and orange hues of the autumn landscape in her photographs printed on paper or canvas. Of particular note is a close-up of a spider web, glistening with water droplets, set amid brilliant autumn foliage. It’s a wonderful show, so drop by before September 27 and check it out.
